Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of one hundred (100) refurbished desktop computers (specifications attached) to replace student computers (purchased as early as 2002) that are in various classrooms across the System. Funds are available for this purchase within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board. We received four (4) bids for this purchase, two (2) of which were received from Insight Systems Exchange. Bids are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. All units covered by these bids come with a three (3) year warranty. Individual bids were as follows:

CDI Computer Dealers, Inc. - $208.00 each
Insight Systems Exchange – $219.97 each
Insight Systems Exchange – $227.00 each
School Tech Supply – $229.00 each

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the bid received as submitted by CDI Computer Dealers in the amount of $208.00 for each refurbished desktop computer. Total cost for one hundred (100) units is $20,800.
